Field Trips at the Kids' Garden

A field trip to Troy Gardens offers students hand-on expertiences in gardening and ecology. For example, students might participate in such popular activities as harvesting carrots or radishes, wrangling chickens in our Kids' Garden coop, smelling flowers in the tallgrass prairie, or making tea in our herb garden. The Troy Kids' Garden provides young people with an outdoor classroom where they can develop meaningful connections with the natural world. Please let us know if you have any classroom learning you would like supported during your visit.

Types of Groups: We welcome groups pre-K - 8th grade of any ability level. Groups come form Madison-area schools, community centers, after school programs, summer camps, daycare centers, college prep programs and more. Some groups visit the garden on a single occasion and others make multiple trips. We will do our best to accommodate all students needs within the capacity of our outdoor landscape. If you are interested in visiting the Kid's Garden as an individual or family, check out our Family Field Trips and our Troy Gardens Day Camp.
